As a Lloyd’s MGA, Litoral has been authorised to underwrite risks and issue policies on behalf of its Syndicates, after successfully completing a rigorous application process that includes securing sponsorship by both a Lloyd’s Broker and a Lloyd’s Managing Agent. Each year, every MGA must also supply Lloyd’s with compliance updates that demonstrate sound business undertakings and robust operational capabilities.

As the industry regulator, the Insurance Authority also imposes stringent requirements on any insurance business seeking to operate in or from Hong Kong before issuing the necessary licence. All authorised insurers must meet requirements laid out under the Hong Kong Insurance Ordinance. They must also satisfy other guidelines for competence, financial standing and corporate governance.
